Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms

Pregnancy is an entirely differing experience for every woman and so they are signs and symptoms. The Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms vary from woman to woman. But, the most common symptom in all is delayed or missed period. Some may experience the Pregnancy symptoms as early as within a week of conception, some may experience it later and few may not experience any, at all. Even before you missed period or you do home pregnancy test you may suspect the pregnancy by considering these early symptoms which might appearing soon after conception.

Following are the signs and symptoms of pregnancy to confirm that you are pregnant

Missed Menstrual Period: Menstrual cycles occur on a 28 day cycle. A delayed or missed menstruation is the most common symptom suggesting a woman to test for pregnancy. If you become pregnant, your period will be missed for entire nine months. However, some women can bleed while they are pregnant, but typically the bleeding will be shorter or lighter than a normal period.

Swollen/Tender Breast: The pregnancy hormone starts preparing the breast for the baby who is to be breastfed. After 1-2 weeks of conception you may notice a change in your breast. They may feel sore and tingly. You may feel fullness and heaviness in your breast.

Fatigue or Tiredness: Feeling fatigued or more tired during initial pregnancy phase is one of the common Symptoms which can also start as early as the first week after conception. This is due to production of high levels of the hormone progesterone. Due to this, it can put you to sleep, and may even lower your blood sugar levels and blood pressure. There is a constant increase in blood production which saps your energy.

Nausea and Vomiting: This is one of the known pregnancy symptoms which usually appear after 2 weeks of conception. For some it will last for first trimester but for few it may prolong to mid half of second trimester. Nausea occurs due to the rapid rising of estrogen level in the body, which causes the stomach to empty more slowly. Pregnant women generally have a sharp sense for perception of smell, so a variety of odors such as food, cooking, perfume or cigarette smoke can create waves of nausea in early pregnancy.

Headaches and Backaches: The lower backaches may be a symptom that starts from early pregnancy but the nuisance of it will be increasing with progression of pregnancy, also, due to increasing weight around abdomen. The dramatic hormonal status and increased blood pressure in the body will lead to headaches in early Pregnancy.

Frequent Urination:The urinary bladder faces some pressure on it due to enlarging uterus so around 6-8 weeks after conception; you may find yourself making a few extra trips to the bathroom.

Darkening of Areolas: If you are pregnant, the skin around your nipples may get darker. And the nipple protrudes and become more prominent.

Food Cravings: A strong desire to eat pickles, tangy foods and ice creams will be marked in most of the women. This can last throughout the pregnancy.

Constipation: Constipation is seen due to an increase in progesterone. The food passes more slowly through the intestines which can lead to constipation.

Mood Swings: The overflow of hormones within your body during early Pregnancy can make you very emotional and weepy. You will break at the slightest point and some time feel lonely or get scared of things easily.

Sorry to say, but these symptoms aren't unique in pregnancy. Each of the Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms may also refer to some other problem if, you are not pregnant.
