Pregnancy Week 13
Congratulations! As you have entered in the second trimester of your Pregnancy. This is a period when mothers experience very good mood with more energy. The tiresome morning sickness will ease off slowly. Now, you will also begin to feel pregnant.
How Big is Your Baby
The crown to rump length of your baby is 2.6 to 3.1 inches and it weighs about 14-20 gm. It is as big as a size of peach. Your baby has doubled in the length since the 7 th week. In Week 13 the head is bigger than the body, and the rest of body parts start gaining shape. From this Pregnancy Week 13 the face looks more human, and eyes start moving closer together. Toes and fingers are separate with the ankles and wrists already formed and the fingerprints have now formed at the tips of her fingers.
External genitalia are becoming visible. Intestines are shifting into their proper place and kidney, urinary tract are functioning now. How Mom is Doing
Your uterus has grown a lot. It starts filling your pelvis now and grows upward into your abdomen. Now, you will put on weight and start feelng better. Your breasts will also increase in size, feeling heavy and lumpy. Colostrum begins to form and can ooze out by massaging the nipple.
The baby is growing so, in this Week 13 it is very essential for you to take good diet which includes nuts, beans, eggs and soy products to provide protein. And consumption of fruits and vegetables should be doubled, by now. Milk and its products should be taken daily in different forms. Good exercise will keep you fit as well as increase your appetite.
