How Big is Your Baby
Your baby’s crown to rump length is 3.2 to 4.5 inches and weighs almost an ounce (25 gm). The size of your baby is around your fist. The ears are shifting from the neck to their more normal position i.e. on the side of the head, and the neck is becoming longer and chin is not resting on the chest. In this Week 14 eyes started moving gradually to the front of fetal face. Facial features and fingertips have been formed. Its body is covered by a thin layer of hair, called lanugo, which will shed off later. Eyebrows and hair on the top of the head are beginning to grow. Bones are ossifying.
Your baby had started emptying his or her bladder by every 40-45 minutes. Her liver has begun to secret bile, while her spleen has started producing red blood cells. The baby may start sucking his thumb by now. Your baby’s brain has been developed in Week 14 and can react to your stimuli and even make facial expressions like smile and grimace. Your health care provider can determine the sex of the baby now, but it's still a bit early.

How Mom is Doing
You may probably start wearing maternity clothes by now. You may start feeling a stretchy muscles and skin which is increasing day by day to provide house for your growing baby. Your skin and muscles will never be same again. Skin tags and moles will start appearing on your body or it will get larger and more prominent due to changing hormones.
You may notice constipation problem due to Pregnancy hormone which relaxes the bowel. You need to increase intake of fluid and consume lot of fruits along with moderate exercise. Consume red meat, spinach and legumes such as lentils as they are rich in iron. High carbohydrate diet includes dry toast, honey, banana, baked potato, muesli, steamed rice and tofu need to be start now.
You should know that it is very important to involve your partner in the miracle that is happening in the body. In this Pregnancy Week 14 take your partner with you to an appointment with your doctor. Let him know the changes you are feeling and the emotions you are holding. This can be time of communication and growth in your relations.
