Pregnancy Week 39

Pregnancy week 39, now it is just a matter of time before your little one announces his or her arrival. You may experience slight pains which come and go. Keep a watch for any abnormal discharge or bleeding and do report it immediately to your medical practitioner. Few mothers in Week 39 many observe leaking of the amniotic fluid or even water breaking, loss of the mucus plug (the mucus plug is something that has kept your uterus sealed for so long protecting it from any kind of infection) or some spotting just before you go into labor. As each body reacts differently you cannot generalize as to what you would experience just before going into labor.

About the Baby

All the excitement of the big moment is depriving you of your sleep even more. Catch up on your sleep with short naps during day time. Your frequent visits to the bathroom in Pregnancy Week 39 continue with the fully grown baby exerting more pressure on your bladder. Report any discharge or any other abnormal observation to your practitioner. Continue with some light relaxation exercises. You must explain your birth plan to your caregiver and make all your preferences clear.

Be ready to leave home any time from now and keep your bags packed with all you and your little one would need while you are in the hospital. In this Pregnancy Week 39 do not forget small things like a camera, all the phone numbers of people your partner would like to call to announce the arrival of your bundle of joy.
